Silica gel
Harare Institute of Technology wants laboratory chemicals and consumables: sodium hydroxide, sulphuric acid, silver nitrate, oxalic acid, glycerine, silica gel, filter paper and gloves. Bids close 23 September 2026 at 16:40 CAT.
Laboratory reagents and consumables for Harare Institute of Technology. The reagents: 6 units of 500g analytical grade sodium hydroxide, one 20kg of industrial grade sodium hydroxide, 2 units of 500g potassium hydroxide, 2 units of 500g sodium chloride, 2 units of 500g oxalic acid, 2 litres of 98% sulphuric acid, 100g of silver nitrate, 2.5 litres of glycerine and 2kg of silica gel. The consumables: 10 boxes of 15cm filter paper in 100s, 10 packs of 6 paper towels and 10 boxes of non-powdered latex gloves in 100s. Most lines carry a grade or concentration, which is what matters for reagents — the analytical versus industrial distinction on the two sodium hydroxide lines is properly made. Two things to note: the tender is titled "Silica gel", which is one 2kg line out of twelve; and several quantity units do not match their descriptions, such as "1 Litre · Glycerine 2.5L" and "1 Kilogram · Silver Nitrate 100g". Sulphuric acid at 98% is a dangerous good, and the notice does not address packaging or transport requirements. Delivery is within 30 days, quotes valid 30 days.
