The boundary of the Mushandike Farm cantonment is replaced. The area now covers 7 944,965 hectares in Masvingo District, defined by reference points on Map Zimbabwe Mushandike 2030B1 Edition 2 at 1:50 000, held at the Surveyor-General's office in Bulawayo.
The coordinates are given in Universal Transverse Mercator, SRID Zone 36S, on the Modified Clarke 1880 spheroid. Anyone needing to know whether a specific piece of land now falls inside the cantonment will have to plot the listed points against that map — the notice describes the area no other way, and gives no farm names, roads or landmarks.
Declaring land a cantonment brings it under Part IX of the Defence Act. The notice does not set out what that means in practice, and it is silent on whether people currently living on, farming or grazing the affected land are affected, and on any compensation or transitional arrangement.
