Statute Law Compilation and Revision (Assignment of Chapter Number) Notice, 2026
The Persons with Disabilities Act (No. 3 of 2025) is assigned Chapter 17:13, so it can now be cited in the standard form.
The Persons with Disabilities Act was gazetted in 2025 without a Chapter number, which left it without its place in the Laws of Zimbabwe. The Law Reviser has now assigned one.
The Act is to be read as if section 1 had been amended by inserting "[Chapter 17:13]". From here on it is properly cited as the Persons with Disabilities Act [Chapter 17:13], under Title 17 of the Laws of Zimbabwe.
This is a housekeeping notice: it changes nothing about the rights or duties the Act creates. It matters only for citation — in pleadings, contracts, compliance documents and any instrument made under the Act, which must now use the Chapter number.
