Date of Commencement Broadcasting Services Amendment Act

His Excellency the President has, under section 1(2) of the Broadcasting Services Amendment Act (No. 2 of 2025), fixed 15 July 2025 as the date on which that Act comes into operation.

The Act was gazetted on 23 May 2025 as Act 2 of 2025 but, like most Zimbabwean amending Acts, took effect only on a date the President later fixed. This notice supplies that date, published in an Extraordinary Gazette on the day itself.

Broadcasters, licensees and anyone affected by the amendments should date their obligations from 15 July 2025. Note that a separate notice, S.I. 69 of 2025, corrected textual errors in the Act's section 5 shortly before commencement.
