Customs and Excise (Tariff) (Amendment) Notice, 2025, (No. 13)
Customs duty on alkyd resins, thin stainless steel sheet under 3mm and cored welding wire drops from 5%, 5% and 15% to zero from 1 January 2026.
The Second Schedule to the Customs and Excise (Tariff) Notice, 2022 (S.I. 203 of 2022) is amended to cut three tariff lines to zero with effect from 1 January 2026.
Alkyd resins (commodity code 3907.50.00) fall from 5% to 0%, both General and MFN. Flat-rolled stainless steel of a thickness of less than 3 mm (7219.14.00) falls from 5% to 0%. Cored wire of base metal for electric arc-welding (8311.20.00) falls from 15% to 0%.
The cut is to the rate itself, not a conditional rebate, so it applies to any importer of those codes without registration or approval. Paint and coatings manufacturers, metal fabricators and welding consumable importers should re-price landed costs for consignments cleared from 1 January 2026.
