Zambezi River Authority (Terms and Conditions of Service) (Amendment) By-laws, 2025 (No.7)

The Zambezi River Authority adds four posts to its staff schedule — occupational health and safety officer and assistant, plus procurement officer and assistant — graded ZRA 5 to ZRA 7.

The Zambezi River Authority, with the approval of the Council of Ministers, has inserted four job titles into the Second Schedule to its Terms and Conditions of Service By-laws, 1995. The Second Schedule classifies employees' job titles, grades and accrued annual leave days.

The new entries are an Occupational Health and Safety Officer at serial 37(a), graded ZRA 5 in the Lower Management category; an Assistant Occupational Health and Safety Officer at serial 54(a), graded ZRA 6 and non-managerial; a Procurement Officer (3) at serial 50, graded ZRA 6 and non-managerial; and a Procurement Assistant (3) at serial 63, graded ZRA 7 and non-managerial.

The practical effect is that the Authority can now appoint to dedicated safety and procurement posts on established terms rather than improvising grades. The by-laws set out the classification only; the extracted text does not carry the leave entitlements or salary figures that attach to grades ZRA 5 to ZRA 7.

No commencement date is stated; the by-laws were gazetted on 21 February 2025.
