Customs and Excise (Furniture Manufacturer) (Rebate) (Amendment) Regulations, 2024 (No. 6)

Regal Bedding (Private) Limited is added to the list of approved furniture manufacturers that can import raw materials under customs duty rebate.

The Minister of Finance has added one company to the furniture manufacturers' rebate scheme. Regal Bedding (Private) Limited becomes item 30 on the list of approved companies in the Third Schedule to the Customs and Excise (Furniture Manufacturer) (Rebate) Regulations, 2016 (S.I. 3 of 2016).

Being on that list is what lets an approved manufacturer bring in raw materials and inputs for furniture manufacture with a rebate of customs duty, subject to the conditions in the 2016 regulations.

Nothing else changes. The rebate conditions, the qualifying goods and the approval requirements are all in the principal 2016 regulations, not here — this instrument is purely an addition to the schedule of approved names.

This is the sixth such amendment to the furniture manufacturer rebate regulations in 2024, which gives a sense of how routinely companies are being added to the list.
