Collective Bargaining Agreement Agricultural Industry Tea

Tea and coffee estate minimum wages, effective 1 May 2024: US$75 a month at grade A1 to US$148 at C2, paid 70% in US dollars and 30% in ZiG at the interbank rate.

This registered collective bargaining agreement for the tea and coffee subsector of the agricultural industry sets minimum monthly wages with effect from 1 May 2024. It was gazetted on 5 December 2025.

The wage is split by currency: 70 per cent is payable in United States dollars and 30 per cent in Zimbabwe Gold, converted at the interbank rate prevailing on the 20th day of the month for which the wage is due. The schedule's ZiG column was calculated at the 6 May 2024 rate of US$1:13.6757.

The new minimums are US$75 a month at grade A1, US$79 at A2, US$86 at A3, US$96 at B1, US$101 at B2, US$109 at B3, US$115 at B4, US$128 at B5, US$136 at C1 and US$148 at C2 — up from former minimums of US$71 at A1 to US$140 at C2.

Establishments or employees may apply to the National Employment Council for exemption or partial exemption within 14 days of the date of the agreement.

The agreement is binding on all organisations within the agricultural industry.
