Collective Bargaining Agreement Agricultural Industry Kapenta
Kapenta fishing crews get new minimum wages from 1 September 2024: US$129 a month at grade A1 rising to US$258 at C2, all payable in US dollars.
This registered collective bargaining agreement sets minimum monthly wages for the kapenta subsector of the agricultural industry with effect from 1 September 2024. It was signed at Harare on 26 September 2024 and gazetted on 5 December 2025.
The schedule is denominated wholly in United States dollars, with no local-currency component: US$129 at grade A1, US$139 at A2, US$150 at A3, US$163 at B1, US$175 at B2, US$190 at B3, US$205 at B4, US$222 at B5, US$239 at C1 and US$258 at C2.
Each rises modestly from the former minimums of US$125 at A1 through US$250 at C2 — increases of roughly 3 per cent across the ladder.
Establishments or employees may apply to the National Employment Council for exemption or partial exemption within 14 days of the date of the agreement. The agreement is binding on all organisations within the agricultural industry.
